Bitcoin Mining currently Consumes 0.25% of Worldwide Electricity

Bitcoin mining consumes large amounts of energy, and in exchange for the cost of initial electricity. Miners rewarded with a set amount of BTC to validate each block added to the Bitcoin blockchain.
As the network of crypto assets increases in size and scale, more power needed to execute the operation. BTC as a network has grown so much that it now consumes a quarter of the world’s electricity supply.
